Boost up your Vista Hard Drive speed

Before you proceed, I suggest you backup your registry settings. Because some of the tweaks here need to modify the registry. So better be prepared. :)

Enabling Advanced perfomance

  1. Open Device Manager in Control Panel
  2. Click Disk Drives
  3. Double click your hard drive to open the propertiesCheck “Enable Advanced performance” under Policies tab
  4. Click Ok

Turn off Low Hard Disk space warning

  1. Open Registry Editor. Start Menu > Run > type “regedit” (without quotes)
  2. Goto “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current
    version\Policies\Explorer
  3. Right click in right pane and choose New Dword (32 bit) Value
  4. Enter “NoLowDiskSpaceChecks” (without quotes) and Enter
  5. Right click the new Dword and click Modify
  6. Change the data to “1″
  7. Click Ok
