Create Exceptions in Windows Vista Firewall

By default, some programs are blocked by Windows Vista Firewall. But to finish your work, you need to use that program and want it to get access to the Internet. So here is how you can create exception in Windows Vista Firewall.

  1. Open your Control Panel.
  2. Under Security, click on “Allow a program through Windows Firewall” to open Windows Firewall Settings.
  3. Make sure your Windows Vista Firewall is on. You can enable it in General tab.

  4. To start add a new program in the exception list, open Exceptions tab and click Add Program.
  5. Locate your program that you wish to add and click Ok.
  6. At this point, make sure that the program you just added is checked.
  7. Lastly, click Ok to finish the process.

Note: This is only to set exceptions in Windows Vista Firewall. If you are using other firewall, you need to refer to it’s documentation. It should has a guide on how you can set the setting. Good luck! ;)
